yup its not easy being green.

I'd like to throw stuff away without guilt.
To not break down all cardboard packaging and put it in a paper bag,
to not rinse out endless amounts of baby food containers,
to use as many regular baby wipes as i want to get the job done,
to leave the TV on all day for my dogs,
to turn the heat up past 63 during every waking hour,
to buy an large SUV,
to not save all fruit and veggie scraps and coffee grinds in a bag that always leaks on the floor for the compost pile,
to not experiment with expensive "green" diapers and wipes,
to have a million plastic baby toys that I can just toss out whenever she gets new one,
to throw away batteries in the trash with everything else,
to not ask for rechargeable batteries for Xmas,
to leave the water running while washing out baby bottles a million times a day,
to use bleach to clean weekly.
Yup I'd like that.
That would be easy. And clean. And nice.

I'd like not to have my friends and family make jokes about....
my use of cloth diapers once in a while,
the baby wipes that fall apart and don't smell like a "baby",
that ugly pile of yard waste in the corner of the yard,
the "many" different containers for trash,
my cleaning products or lack there of,
my re-used grocery bags as garbage bags,
the organic baby food I buy,
the organic hair and skin products I occasionally buy for myself and always for my baby,
Yup I'd like that.
That would be easy. And clean. And nice.

It would be great if i didn't get so much opposition from my husband about....
Unplugging "some" things not in use,
Buying flushable diapers,
buying earth-friendly-ish baby wipes,
composting,
trading in his pick-up truck that we can't all fit into anyway for a smaller car,
me being a "hippy",
buying ANYTHING at wholefoods,
and many many other things.
That would be easy. And SO nice.

I'm only causing myself the stress and money and extra work - why does everyone have such a hard time with me trying to be green?
